Make a lasting impact supporting K-12 students as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired. This full-time contract role provides 37.5 hours per week working with a diverse student population. By collaborating with educators, support staff, and families, you'll help create accessible learning opportunities and empower young learners to achieve their fullest potential.

What you bring:

• Valid certification for teaching students with visual impairments (TVI)
• Experience working with K-12 students, preferably in school settings
• Familiarity with adaptive technologies, Braille, and large print materials
• Strong communication skills for collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Adaptability and resourcefulness to support students with varying needs

Role responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, low vision devices, and assistive technology
• Collaborate with general and special education teachers to adapt curriculum and learning environments
• Support students’ social, emotional, and academic development
• Assess students’ functional vision and learning needs, making recommendations for accommodations
• Monitor progress, document outcomes, and actively participate in IEP meetings
• Educate staff and peers about visual impairments and promote inclusion
