You’ll collaborate with a dedicated school team near Sykesville and Westminster, MD, where your expertise as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) will be highly valued.
What We’re Looking For:
- Valid Maryland teacher certification or licensure with TVI endorsement
- Experience providing specially designed instruction to meet IEP goals for students who are visually impaired
- Comfort working across a range of ages (Pre-K to Grade 12)
- Ability to manage a caseload of approximately 20-25 students
- Strong communication and organizational abilities
- Flexibility to adapt to varying school schedules (typically between 7:30 am – 4:00 pm depending on assignment)
- Commitment to in-person instruction (virtual/hybrid arrangements not available)
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality instruction for students on your caseload in accordance with their IEPs
- Conduct evaluations and assess student progress
- Partner closely with classroom teachers, families, and IEP teams to ensure student success
- Maintain clear documentation and contribute to IEP meetings
- Travel to assigned school sites (assignments will be determined)
- Utilize a school-provided laptop for planning and communication
