Virtual Teacher of Visually Impaired in KY

A full-time position is available for a visually impaired teacher specializing in telehealth services, supporting students across multiple schools. This itinerant role involves providing specialized instruction and therapy to a total of 15 students within 8 different school settings, with a focus on meeting individual needs through teletherapy and direct support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver telehealth and teletherapy services tailored to students with visual impairments.
• Provide orientation and mobility (O&M) services to 5 students requiring these specialized supports.
• Conduct braille instruction for at least one student needing this specialized literacy skill.
• Support one homebound student through remote educational services.
• Collaborate with educators and support staff to develop effective individualized education plans (IEPs).
• Travel among 8 schools to ensure consistent and comprehensive service delivery.
• Maintain detailed records of student progress and communicate regularly with caregivers and school personnel.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

• Certification or licensure in teaching visually impaired students or speech-language pathology.
• Experience with teletherapy platforms and delivering remote instruction.
• Proven ability to work independently while managing multiple schools and students.
