Virtual Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) - New York

A part-time position is available for a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to provide telehealth services. This role focuses on delivering specialized instruction and support to visually impaired students through remote learning platforms.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting assessments to determine students’ visual needs
• Developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored for visually impaired learners
• Delivering telehealth instruction and support that addresses students’ academic and adaptive skill development
• Collaborating with families and other education professionals to maximize student success
• Maintaining accurate documentation and progress reports

Qualifications:

• Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
• Experience teaching visually impaired students in educational or telehealth settings
• Strong communication skills with the ability to engage students effectively via remote platforms
• Knowledge of assistive technologies and instructional strategies for visually impaired learners
• Ability to work independently and manage a flexible schedule

Location: Massapequa, NY (remote telehealth services)
