Providing specialized educational support for visually impaired students requires expertise and flexibility. This teaching role focuses on delivering vision services primarily onsite, with some telehealth components, to meet individualized educational program (IEP) goals.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver vision instruction in person, meeting with each student for approximately 60 minutes twice weekly, aligning with their IEP requirements.
  • Provide additional vision services including 60 minutes of monthly in-person instruction and a yearly total of 180 minutes for parent consultation.
  • Conduct IEP meetings and consultations virtually to fulfill service time and documentation needs.
  • Address compensatory service requirements by providing 500 minutes of additional vision instruction beyond regular sessions.
  • Begin service delivery as early as the current school year with potential extension through the summer months.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI).
  • Experience working with visually impaired students in educational settings.
  • Ability to conduct telehealth sessions and manage IEP meetings online effectively.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills to coordinate with students, parents, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Flexibility to work onsite in Rancho Cordova, California, with some remote work responsibilities.

Location:

  • Position is based in Rancho Cordova, California, with hybrid onsite and online work.

This role is a contract position suited for professionals seeking to contribute their expertise in vision education within a flexible schedule. Those with availability to begin in the current school year and extend through summer are preferred.
