Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments Opening – 26/27 School Year

Details:

• Remote or Onsite Position

• Full-Time or Part-Time based on district needs

• K-12 Caseload

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students with visual impairments

• Conduct functional vision assessments and learning media assessments

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)

• Provide instruction in Braille, assistive technology, and visual skills as appropriate

• Support students with academic, communication, and independent living skills

• Collaborate with teachers, staff, parents, and administration

• Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team meetings

• Monitor student progress and maintain accurate documentation

Education and Certification

• Appropriate state Teacher of Students with Visual Impairments (TVI) certification/licensure

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Special Education, Visual Impairments, or a related field

• TVI experience preferred, but new graduates are encouraged to apply

• Experience with Braille and assistive technology preferred

• Experience working with students with visual impairments preferred

• Virtual/online teaching experience preferred
