Teacher for the Visually Impaired - The Colony, Texas

You'll serve students with visual impairments across multiple campuses in the vibrant area near The Colony, TX. Key Qualifications:

• Current certification in Visual Impairment (TVI)
• Previous experience serving students with visual impairments in school settings highly desired
• Strong knowledge of assistive technology, adapted curriculum, and Braille instruction
• Proven ability to adapt teaching methods to diverse student needs
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to travel across assigned campuses as part of a floating caseload
• Commitment to fostering an inclusive, supportive classroom environment

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative instruction to students with visual impairments in both individual and small group settings
• Collaborate with general education and special education staff to ensure accessibility of instructional materials
• Assess student skills and develop Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals tailored to unique learning needs
• Provide functional vision assessments and recommend appropriate accommodations and modifications
• Train staff, families, and students on the use of specialized equipment, Braille, and adaptive technology
• Maintain accurate records and communications with IEP teams
