A full-time contract position is available for a talented Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) holding an Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification. You’ll impact approximately 15–20 students district-wide, providing both direct and consultative services in a flexible hybrid model—some work onsite, with the option for part of your schedule to be virtual. Key Qualifications:
- Active Professional Florida TVI License and OMS certification required
- Testing/screening experience with students is a plus
- School-based experience is preferred, but motivated candidates from other backgrounds are welcome
- Strong organization and adaptability for itinerant service delivery across several campuses
- Comfortable with consultative roles and periodic monthly visits
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver instruction and support for visually impaired students from kindergarten through high school
- Provide both direct, hands-on teaching and indirect consultative services to support educational objectives
- Assess, screen, and develop individualized supports for a caseload of around 15-20 students
- Coordinate with school staff and families to optimize access and engagement
- Work across multiple schools (2–3 per day; up to 13 in total), using the main office as your home base
- Provide monthly consultative services and collaborate in schedule planning to best fit your preferences and commuting needs
