Key Qualifications:

• Certified Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience teaching students with visual impairments in a school setting
• Strong knowledge of Braille, accessible technology, and adaptive instructional strategies
• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach with staff, students, and families
• Dedication to fostering independence and confidence in students

Primary Responsibilities:

• Assess student needs and create customized instructional plans
• Deliver direct instruction in Braille, orientation and mobility, and use of assistive technology devices
• Support general education staff by sharing best practices for classroom modifications and accommodations
• Advocate for student access and inclusion across all school activities and curriculum
• Monitor and document student progress, communicating with teachers and families regularly
• Participate in IEP meetings and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
