This rewarding contract position for the 2026/2027 school year offers a part-time schedule of 20 hours per week, supporting multiple campuses in the area.

Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Strong understanding of assessment tools and instructional strategies for visually impaired students
• Experience working with K-12 students in a school environment preferred
• Ability to adapt and modify curriculum for individual student needs
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
• Willingness to commute between campuses as an itinerant teacher
• Commitment to fostering independence and self-advocacy in students

Role Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and consultative services to meet the needs of students with visual impairments
• Conduct and interpret functional vision and learning media assessments
• Collaborate with educators, families, and school teams to develop and implement IEP goals
• Provide guidance on adaptive technology, Braille instruction, and orientation/mobility strategies as needed
• Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate records of student progress
• Serve as a resource and advocate for visually impaired students and their educational teams
• Travel among different school campuses as part of a flexible, supportive service delivery model
