A dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) is needed to provide exceptional support across multiple campuses for the 2026-2027 school year. This part-time contract opportunity involves working 20 hours per week and requires flexibility as you travel between campuses to support students’ varied needs.
Desired Qualifications & Experience:
- Valid teaching certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Previous experience working in school settings with students who are visually impaired
- Strong ability to develop and adapt instructional materials for visually impaired learners
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Comfortable traveling between schools as needed
- Commitment to advocating for and enhancing accessibility in the classroom
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instructional services to K-12 students with visual impairments
- Adapt general education materials and methods to meet individual student needs
- Collaborate with general education staff, special education teams, and families
- Conduct assessments to determine students’ visual and functional abilities
- Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Provide orientation and mobility support where appropriate
- Communicate student progress and needs effectively with all stakeholders
