Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Universal City, TX

Two openings are available for enthusiastic professionals skilled in providing specialized instruction and support for students with visual impairments. This assignment blends direct instructional hours with indirect services, such as consulting with staff and preparing accessible materials. You’ll play a key role in performing essential evaluations, including Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE), Learning Media Assessments (LMA), and Orientation and Mobility (O&M) assessments. Participation in ARD meetings is also required, ensuring that students' needs are well advocated for within their educational plans.

What we’re looking for:

• Experience as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Ability to deliver both direct instruction and indirect consultation services
• Skilled in preparing adapted materials for students with visual impairments
• Familiarity with performing FVE, LMA, and O&M assessments
• Strong collaborative skills for consultation with staff and participation in ARD meetings
• Commitment to fostering accessible and equitable learning environments

Your key responsibilities:
