Empower students to reach their full potential by providing specialized instruction and support as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in the vibrant area near Universal City, TX. What You’ll Contribute:

  • Direct instructional services to students with visual impairments, adapting curriculum and teaching strategies to their unique needs
  • Indirect support through consultation with staff, offering guidance to empower classroom teachers and staff members
  • Preparation and adaptation of materials to ensure accessibility in all learning environments
  • Conduct assessments including Functional Vision Evaluations (FVE), Learning Media Assessments (LMA), and Orientation & Mobility (O&M) evaluations
  • Attend ARD meetings, serving as an essential advocate for visually impaired students and working closely with multidisciplinary teams

Preferred Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
  • Demonstrated experience working with students with visual impairments, delivering both direct instruction and consultative services
  • Familiarity with accessibility tools and adaptive technology
  • Strong communication skills and an ability to collaborate effectively with educators, families, and specialists
  • Experience preparing and interpreting assessment results related to visual impairment needs
