This contract position offers an opportunity to provide essential educational support to students with visual impairments. Located near Ventura, this itinerant role focuses predominantly on consultative services with occasional direct braille instruction.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification or licensure as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with children or young adults with visual impairments
- Strong communication and consultative skills
- Familiarity with braille and assistive technology for the visually impaired
- Ability to travel between school sites as needed
Primary Responsibilities:
- Deliver consultative services to support general education staff in meeting student needs
- Provide expertise on accommodations, instructional strategies, and adaptive technology
- Offer direct instruction in braille and assistive devices to students as required
- Assist with developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure student success
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and services rendered
