Inspire and support student success as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) in a dynamic educational setting near Vero Beach, FL. This full-time, on-site opportunity runs from October through June 1, providing crucial instruction and guidance to students with visual impairments across multiple school campuses.

Use your expertise in Braille and specialized instructional strategies to make a significant difference for a caseload of 12 direct students, delivering 690 service minutes per week, alongside two consults. You’ll collaborate with teams across up to five schools, ensuring that each student receives individualized, accessible education in alignment with their unique needs.

Desired Qualifications & Experience:

  • Valid Florida DOE Teacher for Visually Impaired certification
  • Experience teaching Braille and working with visually impaired students
  • Ability to travel between various schools in the district as needed
  • Commitment to student-centered, adaptive instruction
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills with staff, students, and families
  • Must meet district credentialing requirements, including fingerprint clearance (prints may be pulled from AHCA Clearinghouse if previously done)

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct instruction to students with visual impairments, ensuring access to the core curriculum
  • Provide consultation and support to educators and families
  • Develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
  • Adapt materials and classroom experiences to support accessibility
  • Serve as an advocate for students across assigned campuses
  • Maintain detailed records of student progress and service time
