Key Qualifications:

• Valid state certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Previous experience in a school setting working with visually impaired students preferred
• Proficiency in Braille instruction and adaptive technology

• Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Commitment to promoting independence and inclusion

Primary Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and accommodations to students with visual impairments, both in and out of the classroom
• Collaborate closely with general education teachers, support staff, and families to ensure student success
• Conduct assessments to determine students’ needs and recommend adaptive equipment and technology
• Develop and monitor IEPs, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations
• Offer consultative support to school staff on best practices and strategies for visually impaired learners
