Qualifications & Desired Experience:

• Valid certification as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI)
• Experience working with students with visual impairments in a school environment
• Strong understanding of assistive technologies and Braille
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Ability to assess, adapt, and develop educational plans to enhance student learning
• Strong organizational skills and a compassionate, student-focused mindset

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement individualized instruction for students with visual impairments
• Adapt materials and resources, including creating Braille or large-print content as needed
• Collaborate with classroom teachers, support staff, and families to design accessible curriculum and learning environments
• Provide ongoing support, training, and resources to students and staff regarding assistive technology and techniques
• Monitor and document student progress, adjusting strategies as necessary to meet educational goals
• Foster a welcoming, respectful classroom culture that celebrates diversity and supports student independence
