Grades 6 - 8 Certified Teacher for the Visually Impaired - West Chester, Pennsylvania

Bring your expertise to a rewarding contract opportunity supporting students with visual impairments across a diverse grade range. In this dynamic role, you’ll provide critical instructional support to students in grades K–12, empowering them to access educational content and thrive academically. The position is based near West Chester, PA, with an immediate start and continues through June 3, 2025. Your schedule will feature 32.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 3:15 pm.

Desired Background & Certifications:

• Valid Pennsylvania Teacher of the Visually Impaired Certification (Instructional I or II)
• Experience working with students in grades K–5, 6–8, and 9–12
• Strong collaboration and communication skills, essential for working with students, staff, and families
• Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive materials for visually impaired learners
• Passion for creating inclusive educational environments and fostering independence

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver specialized instruction and support tailored to the unique needs of visually impaired students across all grade levels
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals in collaboration with educators and related service providers
• Adapt curriculum materials and design accessible resources to ensure equal access to learning
• Train and assist school staff in effective strategies and accommodations
• Serve as an advocate and resource for students and their families, promoting best practices in learning and accessibility
• Utilize assessments and ongoing observations to monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed
