Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess the unique educational needs of students with visual impairments and create individualized learning plans
  • Provide direct instruction in core and expanded core curricula, including Braille, orientation and mobility, and daily living skills
  • Assist school staff in adapting classroom materials and strategies to accommodate students’ visual needs
  • Support the use and integration of adaptive technology to enhance learning
  • Conduct training and offer consultation for staff and families to build understanding and confidence in supporting visually impaired learners
  • Participate in IEP meetings and maintain accurate documentation for student progress
