Key Qualifications:

• Current state licensure/certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired
• Demonstrated experience supporting students with varying degrees of visual impairment
• Strong knowledge of Braille, assistive technology, and adapted instructional strategies
• Ability to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and advocacy skills
• Flexibility and creativity in adapting curriculum materials
• Experience consulting with teachers, specialists, and families

Primary Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction tailored to students’ individual abilities and needs
• Adapt curriculum materials and classroom environments for accessibility
• Conduct assessments and collaborate in IEP development and progress monitoring
• Provide consultation and training for faculty and families on best practices for inclusion
• Support the acquisition and integration of assistive technology
• Maintain accurate documentation for compliance and reporting purposes
• Act as a resource and advocate for the needs of students with visual impairments
