Desired Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid teaching certification for Visual Impairment (TVI) or eligibility within the state
• Previous experience working with visually impaired or blind students preferred
• Strong knowledge of Braille instruction, adaptive technology, and accessible materials
• Skilled in developing and implementing individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
• Flexibility and creativity in adapting curriculum to meet diverse learner needs

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide direct instruction to students with visual impairments, individually or in small groups
• Assess student needs and design strategies that promote accessibility and engagement
• Support classroom teachers and staff by offering resources and training on visually accessible materials
• Collaborate with families to set goals, monitor progress, and foster home/school communication
• Maintain accurate records and participate in IEP meetings as part of the multidisciplinary team
• Advocate for students’ needs to enhance accessibility and educational inclusion
