You'll collaborate with a diverse caseload of elementary, and potentially middle and high school students, providing both direct and consultative services. Responsibilities include delivering specialized instruction based on each student’s Individualized Education Program (IEP), offering both direct teaching and consultative support. You'll attend relevant meetings, maintain accurate documentation, and ensure clear communication among team members and families. This role is ideal for educators passionate about creating accessible learning environments and progressing student achievement.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active and valid TVI (Teacher of the Visually Impaired) certification is required.
- Previous experience working with school-age children, preferably in elementary or K-12 settings.
- Proficient in adapting curriculum and instructional strategies for visually impaired learners.
- Strong organizational skills for managing communication, documentation, and multiple student schedules.
- Comfort and experience with both on-site and remote/virtual (VOCO) teaching.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams and participate in IEP meetings.
- Dedication to confidentiality and student advocacy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and indirect instruction in accordance with IEP goals.
- Consult and collaborate with general education staff, related service providers, and families.
- Document all service delivery and IEP-related communication.
