Step into a rewarding opportunity supporting students across a district as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite position offers the chance to make a direct impact in students’ lives by delivering specialized educational services in a variety of school settings. This is an itinerant assignment, so travel between campuses throughout the district will be a key part of your daily routine.
Ideal candidates will have:
- Certification or license as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired
- Previous experience supporting students with visual impairments in K-12 environments
- Strong communication and organizational skills to manage a caseload in multiple school sites
- Comfort working independently and collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
- Access to reliable transportation for regular travel within the district
- Ability to implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and adapt instructional materials as needed
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct instruction and consultative support to visually impaired students
- Assessing student needs and collaborating with classroom teachers to modify curriculum and materials for accessibility
- Traveling between assigned schools across the district to deliver services
- Maintaining accurate documentation and contributing to IEP meetings
- Supporting staff and families with resources and training on best practices for working with students with visual impairments
