Qualifications:
- Certification as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Knowledge of Braille and assistive technology for visually impaired learners
- Previous experience working in a school setting preferred
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
- Ability to develop and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Flexibility and a passion for student-centered teaching
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct and consultative services to students with visual impairments
- Evaluate students, create educational materials, and adapt lessons to individual needs
- Collaborate with teachers, aides, and families to promote accessibility and inclusion
- Monitor progress, maintaining accurate documentation and updating IEP goals as needed
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities
