Step into a rewarding contract role supporting students who are visually impaired in a dynamic school-based setting near Windsor Mill, Maryland. We are seeking one dedicated Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) to begin the upcoming school year on August 13, 2026. You’ll work full-time, with 35-40 hours per week and a flexible schedule that aligns with school hours (between 7:30 am and 4:00 pm, depending on assignment).

Your caseload will include approximately 20-25 students ranging from Pre-K to 12th grade, and you’ll have the opportunity to work across up to 12-15 school locations. As a TVI, your expertise will help create accessible, equitable learning experiences and meaningful progress on IEP goals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Deliver specially designed instruction to students with visual impairments
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop/implement IEPs
  • Provide consultative guidance and collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and other TVIs
  • Support and coordinate with Braille Transcribers to ensure appropriate materials
  • Engage in ongoing communication and professional collaboration across school staff
  • Travel between assigned sites as needed

Desired qualifications:

  • Maryland teacher certification or eligibility for TVI endorsement required (out-of-state candidates welcomed and support with licensure provided)
  • Experience in developing and implementing IEPs for visually impaired students preferred
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary school teams
  • Commitment to student growth and inclusion
