TVI - Winter Garden, Florida

Make an impact supporting K-12 students as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) with Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS) certification in a dynamic, multi-campus setting near Winter Garden, FL. As part of a full-time, contract opportunity, you’ll provide essential instructional and consultative services to visually impaired students across approximately 13 schools. Scheduling is developed collaboratively to fit your preferences and minimize commute, with a blend of on-site and potential hybrid (on-site/virtual) service models to be explored in discussion with district representatives.

Key Qualifications:

• Professional Florida TVI license, plus current OMS certification
• Background in student assessments, including vision-related screenings
• Ability to serve a diverse K-12 caseload with both direct instruction and consultative services
• Strong communication skills and flexibility to travel between schools
• School-based experience is highly valued, but not strictly required

Essential Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct and indirect instruction to students with visual impairments, adapting lessons for accessibility
• Screen and assess students for visual needs and educational supports
• Consult with educators, families, and support staff to ensure best outcomes for each student
• Schedule, prepare, and document monthly consultative sessions and ongoing progress
• Travel between assigned school sites, maintaining home-base at the district main office
• Participate in required district credentialing and onboarding steps, including new contracted hire paperwork
