What You’ll Need to Succeed:
- Valid Professional FL Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI) License
- Orientation & Mobility Specialist (OMS) Certification
- Testing background to perform student screenings
- Experience working in schools is a plus, but candidates with related experience are encouraged to apply
- Willingness to travel between multiple school campuses (itinerant role)
- Comfortable serving a caseload of approximately 15–20 K-12 students, providing both direct and indirect support
- Strong organizational skills for effective commuting and scheduling
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver instructional and consultative services to visually impaired students, both in-person and virtually, as part of a full-time schedule (35 hours/week, 8:00am–3:30pm)
- Conduct student screenings and assessments
- Collaborate with district staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
- Travel between several school sites (2-3 per day), using the district office as a home base
- Maintain accurate documentation and participate in ongoing onboarding and training
