Teacher of the Visually Impaired in Winter Garden, FL

Make an incredible impact supporting students with visual impairments as a Teacher for the Visually Impaired (TVI) with OMS Certification. This fulfilling contract opportunity is based near Winter Garden, FL, and welcomes travel professionals eager to serve a diverse group across multiple schools. Both on-site and a hybrid VOCO model—with periodic travel for direct services—are available, offering flexibility and hands-on engagement.

You’ll provide critical support for K-12 learners district-wide, serving approximately 22 students across up to 13 schools in itinerant fashion. The district offers the main office as your home base, and your weekly schedule and travel routes will be shaped collaboratively to best support your commute and work-life balance. Some services are delivered monthly in a consultative capacity, while others require direct, frequent interaction, including screenings and specialized testing.

Essential Qualifications:

• Florida Professional TVI License required
• Active OMS Certification (must-have)
• Experience in school-based settings strongly preferred
• Testing and student screening experience is a big plus
• Willingness to travel between multiple schools, supporting both direct and consultative caseloads

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct instruction and consultative support for students K-12
• Screen and evaluate students for visual impairment
• Collaborate with other educators, families, and support personnel
• Maintain accurate documentation and participate in ongoing district credentialing and onboarding
• Rotate between schools within the district as assigned, maximizing the reach and effectiveness of services
