This district-wide, contract-based opportunity allows you to tailor your schedule and approach while working with students from PreK through 12th grade, addressing a diverse range of needs from consultation to intensive direct services.

Both in-person and VOCO (virtual) services will be considered, and you’ll have the support to determine your own weekly schedule. Qualifications:
- Valid, active Virginia Department of Education certification for Teachers of the Visually Impaired
- Ability and willingness to complete immediate credentialing, including the VA Dept. of Social Services background check and TB test
- Experience working with students with visual impairments across a range of ages and service needs strongly preferred
- Proficiency in both consultative and direct service models
- Strong communication, organization, and advocacy skills
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver specialized instruction and services to students with visual impairments from PreK through high school
- Adapt and modify curriculum in collaboration with general and special education teams
- Evaluate student progress and participate in developing and updating IEPs
- Provide consultative support to staff and families
- Coordinate resources and strategies to ensure student access, independence, and academic success
- Maintain compliance with all district, state, and federal guidelines
