Embark on a rewarding contract opportunity supporting K-12 students as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired in York County, Pennsylvania. You will collaborate with multiple school districts, providing essential services to students who are visually impaired. As an itinerant professional, you’ll work alongside district staff to create inclusive learning environments and drive positive educational outcomes for your students.
Key Qualifications:
- Possess current, valid Pennsylvania licensure as a Teacher of the Visually Impaired (TVI)
- Experience working with students from Kindergarten through 12th grade
- Strong ability to adapt instructional strategies to meet diverse student needs
- Confident collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and school personnel
- Excellent communication skills and a commitment to student advocacy
Role Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and consultative instruction to visually impaired students across Southern, South Eastern, and Dallastown districts
- Assess students’ vision-related educational needs and develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs)
- Travel to various school sites to provide itinerant support throughout York County
- Equip classroom teachers with tools and techniques for successful inclusion
- Track progress, maintain up-to-date documentation, and communicate regularly with families and staff
- Foster a supportive, empowering environment to maximize student independence
This contract role runs from August 18, 2025 to June 1, 2026, with a highly collaborative approach across multiple school districts. You’ll have the chance to make a significant impact within the community while working with a dynamic educational team.
