A full-time Custodian position is available at a healthcare facility in Hyattsville, MD, on a contract basis. This role is ideal for detail-oriented individuals with experience in maintaining cleanliness and supporting infection control protocols in a hospital or healthcare setting.

Responsibilities include:

  • Performing thorough cleaning and maintenance of patient areas, common spaces, and medical equipment to meet strict infection control standards.
  • Disposing of medical and non-medical waste safely and according to regulatory guidelines.
  • Assisting Therapy staff, including Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTA), by ensuring therapy areas are clean, organized, and sanitized.
  • Monitoring cleaning supplies and reporting inventory needs.
  • Following hospital safety and infection control policies to maintain a safe environment for patients, staff, and visitors.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Prior custodial or housekeeping experience in a hospital or healthcare environment is highly preferred.
  • Knowledge of infection control procedures and hospital sanitation standards.
  • Ability to work independently and efficiently in a fast-paced setting.
  • Strong attention to detail with a commitment to maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Reliable, with excellent time management and communication skills.
