Provide specialized occupational therapy services in a rewarding home health setting, focusing on orthopedic and deconditioned patients. This travel position involves supporting patients in maintaining independence through daily life skills such as bathing, dressing, and cooking, helping them to remain comfortably at home.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver comprehensive occupational therapy visits (4-5 per day), providing customized treatment plans for orthopedic, deconditioned, and select pediatric patients.
- Educate and coach patients on life skills to promote safety and independence in their homes.
- Perform supervisory visits and complete necessary documentation when patients are also seen by COTAs.
- Utilize web-based EMR systems and iPads for efficient charting and remote scheduling.
- Manage documentation for lymphedema therapy and chronic swelling treatments when applicable.
- Coordinate patient care by remotely communicating with physicians and multidisciplinary teams.
- Maintain high organization standards to ensure smooth daily operations and patient follow-up.
Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapist license.
- Experience working with orthopedic and deconditioned adults; experience with pediatric patients is a plus.
- Lymphedema certification or experience is highly desirable.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with proficiency in electronic medical records.
- Ability to work independently with occasional visits to the office.
- New graduates may be considered but experience is preferred.
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
- Approximately 72 hours per pay period
