A healthcare setting is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to provide patient-centered care focused on assessment, treatment planning, intervention, and evaluation. This contract role primarily supports outpatient therapy with occasional acute care duties, overseeing Occupational Therapy Assistants and Aides to ensure effective service delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct formal and informal evaluations of patients’ neurological, skeletal, respiratory, cardiovascular, developmental, social, and cognitive function.
- Develop and implement goal-specific treatment plans aligned with physician orders and clinical standards.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers on conditions, prognosis, and therapeutic interventions.
- Supervise Occupational Therapy Assistants, Home Health Aides, and students, ensuring compliance with regulatory and affiliate guidelines.
- Recommend and facilitate access to adaptive/supportive equipment tailored to patient needs.
- Maintain thorough documentation of treatments and patient responses, adhering to billing and regulatory policies.
- Actively participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, program development, and process improvement initiatives.
- Uphold patient confidentiality and demonstrate professional communication skills.
Desired Qualifications:
- License in Occupational Therapy with proven clinical experience.
- Strong knowledge of outpatient therapy protocols with flexibility to support acute care when needed.
- Competency using Microsoft Windows and aptitude for ongoing learning.
- Physical ability to perform treatment duties, including lifting and mobility assistance.
