Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Occupational Therapy license
- Current registration with the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
- Previous experience in a hospital or acute care setting preferred
- Strong interpersonal skills, with an ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare professionals
- Proficient in developing and implementing individualized care plans
- Ability to assess patient progress and adjust interventions as needed
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and case managers to ensure comprehensive care
- Evaluate patients’ functional needs and establish measurable therapy goals
- Deliver evidence-based occupational therapy interventions aimed at improving patient outcomes
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive equipment, and home modifications to enhance independence
- Monitor, document, and report patient progress, maintaining accurate clinical notes
- Support discharge planning and transition of care, coordinating with other disciplines
