Qualifications:
- Valid and current Occupational Therapist license
- Experience working in both in-patient and out-patient settings
- Strong assessment, clinical reasoning, and patient engagement skills
- Excellent communication abilities for effectively collaborating with healthcare team members and patients
- Ability to adapt to changing case loads and patient needs across different care environments
- Previous hospital-based therapeutic experience preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and create individualized treatment plans
- Deliver direct occupational therapy interventions to maximize patient independence and functional abilities in both in-patient and out-patient settings (split approximately 50/50)
- Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and therapy colleagues to ensure cohesive patient care
- Educate patients and caregivers on therapeutic exercises, adaptive techniques, and home programs
- Accurately document all services provided, maintaining up-to-date and organized records in accordance with hospital policies
- Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, contributing to holistic treatment planning and patient progress review
- Adjust therapy plans in response to patient progress and evolving clinical needs
