Delivering quality occupational therapy in a hospital outpatient environment, this contract role focuses on providing comprehensive patient care and fostering a culture of safety and collaboration. The occupational therapist in this position is responsible for evaluating assigned patients, developing and implementing tailored treatment plans, and modifying these plans as needed to meet patient goals and align with physician direction.
Schedule/Hours:
- Full-time schedule; contract duration as specified at assignment
Key Qualifications:
- Current Occupational Therapy license in good standing
- Experience in a hospital outpatient or similar clinical setting preferred
- Strong clinical reasoning and decision-making skills
- Familiarity with relevant State Practice Act and regulatory compliance
- Excellent communication and documentation abilities
- Dedication to ongoing professional growth and learning
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete comprehensive patient assessments and establish individualized therapy goals
- Design functional, patient-centered treatment programs to promote effective return to community activities
- Delegate and direct therapy services within the scope of practice and organizational guidelines
- Document evaluations, plans, and patient progress clearly and in compliance with clinic, state, and federal regulations
- Ensure all care is provided under valid physician orders and within the scope of insurance approvals
- Actively promote and model a safe environment, adhering to safety protocols and reporting potential hazards immediately
- Mentor students, provide a positive learning environment, and participate in clinical instruction as assigned
- Collaborate with clinical management to identify and pursue professional development opportunities
- Uphold professional codes of conduct and maintain strong ethical standards
