Qualifications and Desired Experience:
- Master's Degree from an accredited physical therapy program
- Experience providing direct patient care in long-term care or hospital settings
- Current Physical Therapist state license
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within six months of hire
- Strong documentation skills and excellent verbal communication
- Ability to deliver satisfactory patient services and collaborate effectively within a healthcare team
- Knowledge of therapeutic techniques appropriate to a range of patient ages and conditions
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess patients' physical conditions and review medical histories to diagnose movement dysfunction
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans involving therapeutic exercises, massage, and physical manipulation to reduce pain and improve function
- Maintain thorough records of patient progress and communicate updates to families, healthcare providers, and care committees
- Uphold patient confidentiality and demonstrate sensitivity towards diverse sociocultural backgrounds
- Collaborate closely with speech therapists, physical therapists, and other care providers to optimize outcomes
- Participate in professional development activities including in-services and continuing education sessions
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and foster positive work relationships through effective communication and problem-solving
