Take your expertise in physical therapy to the next level with this hospital-based opportunity to collaborate within an established interdisciplinary team. In this contract position, you will support a 42-bed inpatient rehabilitation unit on a day shift schedule, with weekend rotations occurring one weekend per month (weekday time off provided to ensure balanced work hours). There is no on-call or night requirement.
Schedule/Hours:
- Day shifts, 8 hours per day
- One weekend per month, with adjusted weekdays off
Qualifications:
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Minimum one year of acute hospital, inpatient rehab, or skilled nursing facility (SNF) experience required
- Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) preferred
- Flexibility with varied day shift hours
- Strong critical thinking, patient interaction, and team collaboration skills
- Efficient time management and adaptability to patient volume and surgical schedules
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver inpatient physical therapy to orthopedic, cardiovascular, neurologic, and general med/surg patient populations
- Participate in scheduled rotations which may include holiday coverage as needed
- Utilize advanced rehabilitation equipment such as treatment beds, exercise balls, resistance bands, treadmills, and exercise bikes
- Document care using Meditech EMR
- Collaborate with directors, lead PTs, fellow therapists, and PT assistants for consistent patient care
- Maintain high dress and professionalism standards; grey scrubs required (no jeans, T-shirts, or hoodies permitted)
