A dynamic opportunity awaits physical therapists specializing in hospital-based care. This travel assignment offers a rewarding experience on the inpatient rehabilitation unit of a well-established medical center located in Gainesville, FL. This role provides the chance to work within a collaborative multidisciplinary team delivering high-quality rehabilitative care.
Assignment Details:
- 40 hours guaranteed per week
- 6-week duration
- No return-to-office requirements, special scheduling, early cancellations, or attendance concerns
- Day shift hours only, with weekend rotation requirements
Unit Overview:
- 30-bed inpatient rehab unit on the 2nd floor of the main hospital building
- Team of 22 rehabilitation staff including PT, OT, SLP, and technicians
- Patient-to-therapist ratio approximately 7:1
- Equipped with typical inpatient rehab gym tools, including balance and gait systems
- Documentation via Meditech Expanse system
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient evaluations and develop individualized treatment plans
- Facilitate activities of daily living (ADLs), transfers, therapeutic exercises, gait training, and functional skill development
- Educate patients and families on therapy goals and home care techniques
Required Qualifications:
- Licensed Physical Therapist with current BLS certification
- Ability to adapt quickly within a fast-paced, startup environment
- Previous travel therapy experience is preferred but not required
- Comfortable functioning independently with strong clinical decision-making skills
