This travel position is tailored for experienced Physical Therapists eager to further their skills in an acute inpatient setting. Ideal candidates bring a wealth of expertise, adaptability, and a passion for continuous growth, gaining hands-on experience with multifaceted patient populations from ortho/total joints and post-cardiac surgery to ICU and oncology.
Schedule/Hours:
- Varied 8-hour shifts: 8:30am–5pm, 9am–5:30pm, 9:30am–6pm, or 10:30am–7pm
- Monday–Friday, with occasional weekend shift (day off during week if working weekend)
- Schedules are provided a month or more in advance
Qualifications:
- California PT license (active)
- BLS certification required
- Minimum 2 years recent acute care PT experience
- Experience with orthopedics, total joints, ICU and ventilated patients
- Skilled in working with diverse patient populations across medsurg, tele, cardiology, and oncology units
- Proficiency with Cerner EMR preferred
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality inpatient physical therapy across all hospital units (no skilled nursing)
- Evaluate, plan, and execute individualized treatment for acute medical and post-surgical cases
- Collaborate closely with rehabilitation techs, nursing staff, and medical directors
- Document care and progress in Cerner EMR system
- Flexibility to potentially float to outpatient settings if needed
