Travel Physical Therapist in Pahoa, HI

Provide expert acute inpatient physical therapy services in a dynamic hospital setting located in Pahoa, HI. This contract opportunity requires candidates to deliver comprehensive care primarily in acute rehab, with additional coverage in ICF/SNF rehab units. The role demands a proactive approach to evaluating, planning, and implementing physical therapy programs aligned with physician directives and patient needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate and re-evaluate assigned patients to develop personalized, therapeutic physical therapy programs.
• Implement ongoing treatment plans prescribed by attending physicians or consulting specialists.
• Serve as a consulting physical therapist within the hospital unit.
• Document patient progress using EMR systems such as Meditech.
• Adapt to hospital operational needs by working variable shifts, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Minimum 6 months of relevant experience working with adults in at least one setting: Acute care, rehabilitation hospital, or Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF).
• Active Hawaii State Physical Therapy license required by assignment start date.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Strong familiarity with EMR systems, preferably Meditech.

Schedule:

• Variable shifts based on hospital needs:
  • Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Tuesday to Saturday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Sunday to Thursday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
• Must arrive the Thursday before the start date for required employee health appointment on Friday.
