Travel Physical Therapist | Ventura, California

An opportunity is available for an experienced Physical Therapist to provide specialized care in a hospital setting located in Ventura, CA. This travel role offers exposure to both inpatient and outpatient therapy services, serving diverse patient populations ranging from orthopedic to neurological and acute care cases.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver patient-centered physical therapy evaluations and treatments in accordance with facility protocols.
• Provide therapy in designated areas such as inpatient rehab units, general medical/surgical floors, sub-acute care, or outpatient clinics specializing in orthopedics, sports medicine, and neuro-rehabilitation.
• Collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement individualized rehabilitation plans.
• Participate in floor-specific orientation (3 shifts) to become acclimated with unit protocols and patient populations.
• Cover weekend shifts alternating either Saturday or Sunday and participate in a holiday rotation including one major and one minor holiday.
• Adhere to facility uniform policy (provided polo with khakis or black pants).
• Utilize Cerner EMR system for documentation and communication.

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

• Active California Physical Therapy License.
• Minimum of 2 years of clinical experience in hospital or outpatient therapy settings.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Previous experience handling complex inpatient populations such as spinal cord injury, stroke, brain injury, orthopedic and critical care patients.
• Ability to work 8-hour shifts (8:00 am – 4:30 pm).
• Flexibility to work either inpatient or outpatient depending on facility needs.
• Preferred candidates have experience with swallow studies (Speech Therapists must hold CCC-SLP and OT candidates with swallow specialty certification are a plus).
