Step into a fulfilling role where you will provide exceptional therapy services within a hospital setting as a speech-language pathologist. This is a 13-week contract assignment with the potential for extension or conversion. Working closely with a seasoned therapy team, you will play a crucial part in supporting adult patients on their journey to improved communication and swallowing function.
Schedule:
- Wednesday – Saturday
- 10-hour shifts (7:45 AM – 6:15 PM; negotiable start time)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology required; Master’s degree preferred
- Prior experience with inpatient rehab, adult acute care, and adult assessments (including bedside swallow or BIM assessment)
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Self-motivated with excellent communication abilities
- Familiarity with Cerner and/or Epic electronic medical records is advantageous
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver individualized speech-language pathology evaluations and interventions for adult hospital patients
- Administer comprehensive assessments related to communication and swallowing disorders
- Develop, implement, and adjust treatment plans in collaboration with interdisciplinary teams
- Complete timely, accurate documentation per hospital standards
- Engage with patients and their families, providing education and guidance on therapy goals and progress
- Contribute to maintaining a patient-centered, safety-focused environment
