Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough assessments and provide direct patient care for a range of speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation, including evaluations, care plans, progress, and discharge reports
- Communicate with insurance providers regarding patient benefits as needed
- Prepare materials and spaces for evaluation and therapy sessions
- Educate staff—including nursing, medical, nutrition, and food service—on evaluation results and up-to-date treatment recommendations
- Develop and deliver in-service presentations and educational opportunities for facility staff
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure patient-centered treatment plans
- Ensure cleanliness of treatment rooms following patient sessions
- Make appointment reminder calls for patients and help guide them and their families throughout the hospital setting
- Take on additional duties as assigned
