Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments and provide direct patient care for a range of speech, language, and swallowing disorders
  • Maintain complete and accurate patient documentation, including evaluations, care plans, progress, and discharge reports
  • Communicate with insurance providers regarding patient benefits as needed
  • Prepare materials and spaces for evaluation and therapy sessions
  • Educate staff—including nursing, medical, nutrition, and food service—on evaluation results and up-to-date treatment recommendations
  • Develop and deliver in-service presentations and educational opportunities for facility staff
  • Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to ensure patient-centered treatment plans
  • Ensure cleanliness of treatment rooms following patient sessions
  • Make appointment reminder calls for patients and help guide them and their families throughout the hospital setting
  • Take on additional duties as assigned
