Qualifications & Experience:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
  • Valid SLP license, with eligibility to practice in a healthcare setting
  • Previous experience in hospital or clinical environments preferred
  • Strong assessment and treatment skills in speech, language, and swallowing disorders
  • Excellent communication, organization, and documentation abilities
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams

Schedule/Hours:

  • Contract role; schedule details to be discussed

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders
  • Complete comprehensive patient documentation, including evaluations, care plans, progress, and discharge notes
  • Communicate with insurance companies regarding patient benefits as necessary
  • Prepare effectively for each evaluation and therapy session
  • Educate staff—such as nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service workers—on results and recommendations following evaluations
  • Create and deliver in-service presentations and educational sessions for hospital staff
  • Collaborate with other healthcare providers to ensure patient-centered, coordinated care
  • Maintain cleanliness of treatment rooms following each session
  • Place reminder calls to patients to support treatment compliance
  • Provide assistance to patients and families navigating hospital systems
  • Take on additional tasks as assigned to support departmental needs
