A dynamic opportunity is available for a Speech Language Pathologist with experience in both outpatient and acute care settings. This is a contract position beginning September 8 and spans 13 weeks, offering primary focus in outpatient therapy within a hospital environment. The caseload consists predominantly of pediatric patients (approximately 70%), with the remainder being adults; acute care responsibilities are exclusively with adult patients. Proficiency in conducting VFSS is essential.

Schedule:

  • Full-time: 40 hours per week
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
  • On-call: Every 3rd weekend, Saturday and Sunday from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. for NPO orders only

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current NC licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist
  • Demonstrated experience in both outpatient and acute care modalities
  • Strong background in pediatric speech therapy; adult therapy experience required
  • Skilled in performing and interpreting VFSS
  • Comfortable working on-call weekends as needed for acute care
  • Professional approach and ability to wear navy scrubs as required

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Deliver evidence-based speech therapy services to pediatric and adult patients in outpatient and acute care settings
  • Perform thorough speech, language, and swallowing assessments, including VFSS
  • Develop individualized treatment plans and track progress
  • Collaborate effectively with multidisciplinary teams for the best patient outcomes
  • Fulfill on-call weekend duties for acute care as needed
