Seeking a motivated and experienced Speech-Language Pathologist for a 13-week hospital-based contract assignment, with the potential for permanent placement. The ideal candidate brings skills in adult acute care and inpatient rehab, with strengths in both assessment and therapeutic intervention. This position operates within a supportive healthcare environment and values proactive, communicative professionals.
Schedule:
- Wednesday – Saturday
- 10-hour shifts (7:45 am – 6:15 pm; start time negotiable)
Qualifications:
- Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology; master’s degree preferred
- Current BLS certification required
- Previous experience in hospital-based adult acute care and inpatient rehabilitation, including conducting bedside swallow or BIM assessments
- Strong clinical documentation abilities
- Demonstrated self-starter with excellent communication skills
- Experience with Cerner and Epic electronic medical records systems is a plus
Responsibilities:
- Deliver evidence-based speech-language pathology services to adult patients, focusing on assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of communication and swallowing disorders
- Implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and current clinical best practices
- Perform comprehensive bedside swallow and cognitive assessments
- Accurately document all patient encounters, progress, and outcomes using EMR systems
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members, patients, and their families to maximize patient recovery and functional outcomes
- Uphold the highest standards of professional and ethical practice in all aspects of care
