Key Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
  • Valid SLP license and certification, or eligibility, for practice as required
  • Clinical experience in medical or hospital settings preferred
  • Strong foundation in assessment and therapy for speech, language, and swallowing disorders
  • Effective communicator with interdisciplinary teams, patients, and families
  • Excellent documentation and organization skills
  • Up-to-date knowledge of evidence-based practices in SLP care

Schedule:

  • Contract position with flexible hours, coordinated with patient and facility needs

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Assess and treat patients experiencing speech, language, voice, and swallowing difficulties
  • Prepare for and conduct thorough evaluation and treatment sessions
  • Document patient progress, including evaluations, plans of care, updates, and discharge reports
  • Contact insurance companies to verify or clarify patient benefits as needed
  • Educate staff such as nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service teams following patient evaluations, sharing findings, and current best practices
  • Create and deliver in-service presentations; offer educational opportunities to staff members
  • Collaborate closely with other healthcare providers to provide integrated, patient-centered treatment
  • Maintain a clean and organized therapy area following each session
  • Make reminder calls to patients and support patients/families as they navigate the hospital environment
  • Complete additional tasks as directed to ensure optimal patient outcomes
