Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred
- Previous experience in hospital or healthcare settings is highly desirable
- Strong clinical skills in assessment and treatment planning for speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct evaluation and evidence-based treatment for adult and pediatric patients with a variety of speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Document all patient care activities including initial evaluations, plans of care, progress, and discharge summaries in accordance with facility standards
- Communicate with insurance companies to verify and discuss patient benefits related to therapy
- Deliver patient-centered education and recommendations to nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service staff
- Lead in-service presentations and contribute to ongoing staff education
- Prepare and maintain clean, safe treatment environments
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to coordinate comprehensive patient care
- Offer support to patients and families in navigating the hospital experience
