Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • Current license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
  • Experience providing therapy in a hospital or healthcare environment
  • Solid understanding of evidence-based speech, language, and swallowing disorder interventions
  • Strong communication and documentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
  • Compassionate, patient-centered approach

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess and manage patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders
  • Document each patient interaction, including evaluations, care plans, progress updates, and discharge summaries
  • Communicate with insurance companies to clarify patient benefits as needed
  • Prepare thoroughly for evaluation and treatment sessions
  • Deliver education to colleagues—such as nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service workers—related to your findings and recommendations
  • Develop and present in-service education and training
  • Coordinate care with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure integrated treatment for each patient
  • Maintain cleanliness of treatment rooms post-session
  • Make reminder calls to patients and assist patients and families in navigating the hospital setting
  • Support the team and facility through additional duties as requested
