Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Current license as a Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
- Experience providing therapy in a hospital or healthcare environment
- Solid understanding of evidence-based speech, language, and swallowing disorder interventions
- Strong communication and documentation skills
- Ability to collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams
- Compassionate, patient-centered approach
Key Responsibilities:
- Assess and manage patients with speech, language, and swallowing disorders
- Document each patient interaction, including evaluations, care plans, progress updates, and discharge summaries
- Communicate with insurance companies to clarify patient benefits as needed
- Prepare thoroughly for evaluation and treatment sessions
- Deliver education to colleagues—such as nurses, physicians, dietitians, and food service workers—related to your findings and recommendations
- Develop and present in-service education and training
- Coordinate care with fellow healthcare professionals to ensure integrated treatment for each patient
- Maintain cleanliness of treatment rooms post-session
- Make reminder calls to patients and assist patients and families in navigating the hospital setting
- Support the team and facility through additional duties as requested
