Step into a dynamic therapy environment where you’ll play an essential role as the primary Speech Therapist, supporting a diverse patient population within a long-term acute care hospital. You’ll collaborate closely with physicians and radiology teams to deliver high-quality care, including Modified Barium Swallow Studies performed with in-house resources.
Schedule/Hours:
- 8-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
- No weekends or major holidays
- Start time: 8:00 am
- Lunch: 12:00 pm – 12:30 pm
Qualifications & Experience:
- Licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) with hospital-based experience
- Proficient in conducting Modified Barium Swallow Studies, ideally with a C-arm
- Skilled in treating patients with tracheostomy, passy muir speaking valves, and elevated oxygen needs
- Strong communication skills for effective physician coordination
- Experience managing caseloads involving CVA, stroke, TBI, SCI, and respiratory failure patients
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main Speech Therapist for a 72-bed facility, supported by PRN staff as needed
- Perform Modified Barium Swallow Studies in collaboration with Radiology Technicians
- Evaluate and treat patients with a range of complex medical diagnoses
- Guide treatment goals with a focus on discharging patients to home or in-patient rehab
- Achieve a productivity target of at least 240 minutes of billable treatment daily (about 50%)
- Document patient progress and communicate updates effectively with medical team members
