This in-person opportunity is ideal for a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) who enjoys working with children and seeks to make a genuine difference every day.
As part of this role, you'll lead OT interventions for a caseload of approximately 20-25 students, conducting comprehensive assessments, overseeing therapy sessions, and guiding Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants (COTAs) to ensure every child receives the highest quality care. You’ll collaborate closely with educators, families, and other specialists to develop and implement effective treatment plans that support students’ growth and success.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current Virginia OT licensure required
- Experience in school-based OT preferred; home health or healthcare setting experience also valuable
- Strong understanding of pediatric assessment tools and intervention strategies
- Skills in supervising and mentoring COTAs
- Excellent communication and collaborative abilities
- Proficiency in maintaining thorough documentation and progress reports
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct occupational therapy services to children in an educational setting
- Complete comprehensive assessments, document findings, and determine students’ therapy needs and goals
- Supervise COTAs, ensuring fidelity to treatment plans and guidance on best practices
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and interdisciplinary teams to integrate therapy into the student’s educational program
- Monitor progress, adjust interventions, and keep all records compliant with regulations
