Step into a rewarding role supporting student development as a contract Occupational Therapist working across both middle and elementary school settings near Renton, WA. In this assignment, you'll collaborate on campus—no virtual roles—helping approximately 41 students thrive through individualized therapeutic interventions. Your expertise will be divided across two welcoming environments: three days per week at a middle school and two days at an elementary school. Assignments begin September 9 and continue through the end of the academic year, including participation in a half-day orientation the week prior to ensure a smooth transition.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Valid Occupational Therapist licensure for the state of Washington
  • Prior experience in school-based, pediatric, home health, or healthcare OT roles
  • Strong skills in individualized assessment, intervention planning, and progress monitoring
  • Comfortable working with diverse ages and abilities in educational settings
  • Excellent communication and record-keeping skills
  • Adaptability to work with varied student caseloads in multiple buildings
  • Ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, educators, and families

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Deliver direct, evidence-based OT services to students, focusing on developing functional skills for school success
  • Evaluate students referred for occupational therapy and develop targeted treatment plans
  • Collaborate with teachers, staff, and families to integrate therapy goals into classroom routines
  • Document interventions, maintain compliant records, and monitor student progress toward goals
  • Participate in IEP meetings and contribute insights for team-based planning
  • Provide therapeutic strategies and environmental modifications to support classroom access

This contract position features a consistent weekday schedule with 37.5 hours per week, offering a balance of structured routine and meaningful impact.
