Skilled Nursing Facility Occupational Therapist in Tacoma, WA

Step into a rewarding opportunity as an Occupational Therapist supporting students in a vibrant school setting near Tacoma, WA! This contract position offers a unique chance to work with a diverse caseload of approximately 41 students across two welcoming campuses—spending three days each week at one school and two at another. You’ll be instrumental in helping students reach their greatest potential throughout the academic year, starting September 9 and continuing until the end of the school year. A half-day training session the week prior ensures a smooth transition into your new role.

Successful candidates will bring their expertise in therapy and a proactive approach to pediatric care, focusing on both in-class and one-on-one interventions to foster student growth and independence.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Washington Occupational Therapist licensure
• Prior experience working in educational, home health, or pediatric settings
• Proven skill in assessment, developing and implementing IEPs, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams
• Strong communication and organizational abilities
• Availability for full-time, in-person work (Monday–Friday, 37.5 hours per week)
• Positive, flexible attitude and a passion for empowering students of all abilities

Core Responsibilities:

• Provide evidence-based occupational therapy assessments and treatments to students in both elementary and middle school settings
• Document progress and maintain compliance with school guidelines and state regulations
• Work collaboratively with teachers, families, and other school staff to support student success and wellbeing
• Participate in team meetings and contribute expertise to multidisciplinary educational planning
