Skilled Nursing Facility Speech Therapist in Des Plaines, IL

Key Qualifications/Desired Experience:

• Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
• Active SLP license and current ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) or eligibility for CFY supervision
• Previous experience providing therapy and conducting assessments in a pediatric or school setting preferred
• Familiarity with IEP processes and documentation standards
• Strong interpersonal skills, empathy, and a collaborative approach to working with students, families, and school staff

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive speech, language, communication, and swallowing assessments for students as assigned
• Develop, implement, and monitor individual treatment plans tailored to student needs
• Deliver direct therapy services individually and in small groups, targeting articulation, language, fluency, social communication, and/or pragmatic skills
• Participate in IEP meetings; contribute to goal setting and progress reporting
• Maintain accurate records and timely documentation, adhering to school and legal guidelines
• Consult with teachers and caregivers to provide strategies that facilitate student success in the classroom
